Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of Tourism and Leisure, Siandou Fofana, welcomed the Brazil–Côte d’Ivoire mission in Abidjan on September 7. Discussions focused on promoting the destination in Brazil and Latin America, air connectivity and new opportunities across tourism, culture and business.

The meeting was also attended by Laetitia M’bahia, the Ministry’s Chief of Staff; Akissi Bony Kramo, Director of External Services; and Jennifer Curcio, Director of the Côte d’Ivoire Tourism and Leisure Bureau for Brazil and Latin America.

A destination of complementary experiences

The conversation highlighted Côte d’Ivoire’s broad range of experiences: Abidjan’s urban energy, Grand-Bassam’s heritage, Assinie’s coastal scenery, Yamoussoukro’s monumentality and the natural wealth of its parks and reserves.

The mission was designed so that operators, communications professionals and strategic partners could experience this diversity first-hand. Beyond showcasing attractions, the aim was to turn the journey into market knowledge, new tourism products and stories that bring Latin American audiences closer to the country.

A long-term vision for cooperation

TAAG’s new São Paulo–Luanda–Abidjan connection creates a particularly favourable setting. By expanding access to the destination, the route strengthens the movement of visitors, professionals and investment between Brazil and Côte d’Ivoire.

For the Bureau, the minister’s reception confirms the priority given to Latin America and consolidates a cooperation agenda combining promotion, training, connectivity and business development.
