A commercial opportunity only becomes a good deal when the partner is selected carefully. Before making a purchase, a basic checklist can reduce risks and increase confidence in the negotiation.

The first step is to confirm company registration and verify that the supplier’s information is consistent. It is also useful to seek references and understand the company’s history, clients and market reputation.

The review should include proposals, contracts, deadlines, payment methods and each party’s responsibilities. These documents help make agreed conditions clearer before formalization.

When necessary, an inspection of facilities, products or goods can add security. Information, verification and planning help build stronger commercial partnerships.

The checklist shown in the visuals can be used during the prospecting stage. Confirming company registration, address, contact channels and the consistency of information helps verify that a supplier really matches the profile being presented. Commercial references and operating history add useful context.

Documents should also be compared carefully. Proposals, contracts, bank details, product specifications and negotiated conditions need to be consistent with one another. Unexpected changes of bank account, pressure for immediate payment or contradictory information are signs that deserve further verification. When the value or complexity of the operation justifies it, an independent inspection of the company, factory or merchandise can provide an additional layer of security.

Commercial trust is not built only through a good conversation. It develops through evidence, documented communication and clear responsibilities. In international operations, distance makes these checks even more important.
